I’m 19 years old, I’m from near Brighton UK.I studied 2 years at college, level 1 & 2 hair and beauty. I’m diagnosed with BPD, borderline personality disorder. I also have a dog called Teddy. I’m a mental health advocate, I think it’s important to raise awareness around mental health, its also important to talk about how your feeling (I feel very strongly about that).. I do know it’s hard though. My DMS are always open too.
WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU WERE TAUGHT AT SCHOOL ABOUT MENTAL WELLBEING AND WHY?
I wish they would talk about different mental health illnesses , and how it effects each individual. Also, to have some coping strategies etc.
ANY ADVICE TO THE YOUNG PEOPLE READING THIS?
Personally .. I think getting up, having a bath or shower and going for a nice walk helps. Or another thing I find helpful it’s filling in a mood tracker. You can get these off @livespiffy online or Amazon, even make your own if you are into craft/ drawing.
